Breakfast

Regular school breakfast is available each morning at 7:30 in the HCI cafeteria, and is prepared/delivered/distributed by the food and nutrition staff at Avon Park High School.

Students can also purchase breakfast from the college cafeteria Kelly's at 7:30.

Lunch

Regular school lunch is available each day at 11:05 in the HCI cafeteria, and is prepared/delivered/distributed by the food and nutrition staff at Avon Park High School. Students will need to request a lunch when they complete their daily sign-in so that we can prepare for the correct amount of food.

Students can also purchase lunch from the college cafeteria Kelly's at 7:30.

All student have the option of going off campus to purchase a lunch from a local dining area, but need to make sure that it does not cause them to be tardy to their afternoon classes.

HCI has a Student Government Association that meets weekly and helps plan and organize various school activities. This group also gives the students an opportunity to meet and express celebrations and concerns with faculty and staff.

HCI also has a number of clubs the meet during lunch and provide students an opportunity to connect with each other and their teachers over common interests. This year's lunch clubs include:

Anime Club
Cooking Club
Scary Movie Club

HCI awards a Student of the Month for each core subject area of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies

HCI also presents awards at the end of each semester for Attendance, Honor Roll, and Citizenship. These awards are typically accompanied by a fun activity that in the past has included a trip to Highlands Hammock State Park and an end of the school year pool party.
