High School

Academics

Students will spend half of their school day at the Highlands Career Institute focusing on their core high school academic courses. We have an excellent face-to-face teacher for each of the subject areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students also have access to Highlands Virtual Courses to complete elective graduation requirements in the areas of Physical Education and Performing/Practical Arts. Our 10th grade students complete the Pre-AP curriculum in both English and Social Studies.

HCI does not currently offer Honors, AP, or IB level courses. Students who meet the 3.0 GPA and qualifying PERT test score, may take a college dual enrollment course in place of a traditional high school credit. For example, a qualifying student could take College English instead of English 4.
