๐Ÿš Parents: Please make sure your child knows exactly how they will get home on the first day of school. Transportation changes are extremely difficult in the first few days. โš ๏ธ Important: Expect possible bus delays during the first couple of weeks as routes are adjusted and stops are verified. ๐Ÿš™ The same goes for the parent pick-up line. Things typically stabilize within 2 weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

Attendance Matters at HGM! ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ“š
Mr. Ward has been reviewing the data, and the message is clearโ€”students who show up, grow up academically! ๐Ÿ’ก
Take a look at the numbers:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Students with 0โ€“5 absences had an average GPA of 3.0
๐Ÿ‘‰ Students with 6โ€“9 absences averaged 2.68
๐Ÿ‘‰ Students with 10โ€“15 absences averaged 2.73
๐Ÿ‘‰ Students with 16+ absences dropped to 2.14
Every day counts. Every class matters. Letโ€™s work together to build strong routines, healthy habits, and successful students! ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

๐ŸŽ’โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“š Back-to-School Ready? Donโ€™t forget to LABEL it!

As you get your studentโ€™s supplies ready for the first day, take a minute to label everything - especially calculators, water bottles, backpacks, and lunch boxes! ๐Ÿงƒ๐Ÿ““๐ŸŽ’

A quick name written with a Sharpie โœ๏ธ makes a big difference when things go missing (and they will ๐Ÿ™ƒ).

Letโ€™s start the year off organized & keep those supplies coming home where they belong! โœจ

๐Ÿš— Important Traffic Update ๐Ÿš— Weโ€™re excited to share the updated traffic pattern on our campus. Please take a moment to review the changes to ensure a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal for everyone: โœ… Upon entering campus, all vehicles must now turn or veer right. The left turn into the main lot is no longer allowed. โฐ Morning Drop-off: Parents may not drop off students in the main lot before 8:16 AM. After 8:16 AM, students are considered tardy and must be signed in at the front office. ๐Ÿšธ Afternoon Pick-up: Our gates are supervised until 3:30 PM. At 3:30, any remaining students are brought to the flagpole in the front of the school. โš ๏ธ Please note: The flagpole area is NOT an alternative to waiting in the designated pick-up line. Parents who use it as a shortcut will need to make alternate dismissal arrangements. โžก๏ธ To ensure a smooth traffic flow, please plan to use our parent drop-off and pick-up loop via Ortego Street. It gets quicker and more efficient each day as the school year moves on. Thank you for your patience and cooperation! ๐Ÿฆ…

HGM Parents,
Attendance will be a MAJOR area of focus for us this year as we push our School Grade to an "A". As we gear up towards the start of school, here is a visual for attendance goals and a funny meme.
Keep in mind, each day a child misses they lose 7 HOURS of quality instruction. Those HOURS are lost forever. The student and parent will need to make up the lost time at HOME. If a child is absent 7 Days they lose 49 HOURS of instruction with the best educators.

Yellow circle: 'Between 7 and 19 days absence per year, 90%-96%, BELOW EXPECTATIONS.' Red circle: 'More than 19 days absence per year, Under 90%, POOR ATTENDANCE.'
